Information for patients
Last updated: 10.52am, Monday 27th April 2020
From the 23rd March 2020, when the UK and Scottish governments announced the lockdown directive, Erskine Eyecare have had to adapt to work differently.
We want to assure you all that we are here if you should have any urgent needs. Our help is available, but the pathway to that help has had to change.
We shall be operating our service to all three practices out of our Dunblane practice, Monday to Friday 10am-3pm. The Auchterarder practice remains closed and our Bridge of Allan practice is being set-up as a Forth Valley Hospital Eye Emergency Centre.
Face to face examinations will be unavailable unless considered urgent via a triage phone consultation, and routine examinations are suspended until further notice. We will contact you when we are able to offer these again, but if you feel there is an urgent issue, please contact us on 01786823397 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Loss/Breakage of spectacles- if you have no suitable back up pair, please contact us
Contact lens Service- supply and manufacture of CLs remains an essential business, and manufacture and supply is continuous but likely to be on a reduced capacity. We will contact you if your regular supply has arrived in the practice, and arrange to deliver them to you by a suitable method, post or local delivery or uplift from the door during operating hours. Should you run low on your lens supply, you can still order them, ideally via the website order form
or by email. We will keep you in supply by whatever means we can.
If you develop an new intolerance to your contact lens, or a painful red eye during wear, please contact us for advice.
Please DO NOT ATTEND the practice without a prior phone call or by agreement over email. The door will be locked and only opened for agreed appointments.
We politely request and appreciate your patience in this fast moving situation, and we are trying desperately hard to maintain a useful service for those that need us, including a support service via tele-medicine for the local eye department for those whose sight is at risk. Many practices have decided to close altogether so we may also be needed for emergencies from other practices. Our own patients remain our highest priority and rest assured we are here to help if you need us.
Please follow us on facebook and twitter and visit our website for updates as things progress:
Please take care of yourself and your families, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice when normality, or a version of it, finally returns.
